The WineWordsWisdom website focuses on the wonderful world of Italian wines and what it is that makes Italian wines so interesting and compelling. It presents independent reviews of Italian wines, discusses varietals and wine producers, presents monthly wine recommendations, reviews developments in the Italian wine scene and makes recommendations on where to stay, dine and taste wines in Italy.
Wine of the Month Selections
Each month two wines are selected as Italian Wines of the Month: one under $25 and the other over $25. I believe that everyone interested in Italian wines should know where the wine is from, who produced the wine, how it was produced, and why it has a high quality-to-price ratio. Consequently, each Wine of the Month review goes well beyond the typical two or three-sentence wine review and explores who made the wine, how it was made and what it is that makes this wine so special. Italy produces a lot of wine so part of this initiative is to motivate individuals to be more adventuresome and expand their wine horizons beyond the safe and predictable stand-buys such as Chianti and Pinot Grigio. Wine Reviews and Musings
This section of the website covers a wide-range of wine topics relevant to the Italian wine scene. It includes interviews with Italian winemakers, reviews of Italian wine varietals or wine regions, reviews of individual wineries and analysis of current developments in the Italian wine market. It explores and explains what it is about Italian wines that make them so compelling and memorable. See Wine Reviews and Musings.
D.C. Metro Area Wine Bars and Wine-friendly Restaurants
This section presents a detailed listing of wine bars and wine-friendly restaurants in the D.C. metropolitan area. Information on location, hours of operation and other relevant information are presented for each wine bar and restaurant. Anything of special interest – such as availability of wine specials, interesting wine lists and/or consumer-friendly markups on prices of wines by the glass or bottle – are noted. Wine and Food
This section of the website presents news and reviews on the relationship of food and wine. Included are recommended wine and food pairings, interviews with Italian chefs and restaurant owners as well as Italian food and dessert recipes. Oh, did I mention gelato? That's included as well. Where to Stay, Dine and Taste Wine in Italy
This section of the website is for wine enthusiasts that love to travel and sample la dolce vita. It especially appeals to Italy travelers that like to explore on their own and combine their love of travel with some wine country or vineyard tours, wine-friendly restaurants and enoteche (wine bars), or just visit interesting and historically significant places in Italy. Website Traffic Statistics
WineWordsWisdom went online in the spring of 2008 with a full complement of wine-of-the-month selections, wine reviews and other articles of special interest to Italian wine enthusiasts.
Initially, traffic to the website was, as expected, low and slow to develop. However, website traffic started to take off by the end of the year and has been growing at a steady clip ever since. Website traffic shows no signs of slowing down.

Advertising Rates and Other Information
Advertising will appear in the left-hand column of the website Homepage as well as other website pages. The standard ad will be 1-7/8 inches wide by 2-1/2 inches in height (178 by 254 pixels) as indicated in the form at left. Placement of ads of other sizes can be negotiated.
All advertisements must be tasteful, visually appealing and of general interest to visitors of the WineWordsWisdom Website.
Standard advertising rates are $50 a month or $40 a month with a six month commitment.
